O&H chose the beautiful Balcombe Place in Sussex for their wedding day, and it’s difficult to imagine a more fitting setting for a spring wedding film.
Nestled within the Sussex countryside, Balcombe Place offers everything a wedding videographer could ask for. Stunning views, elegant gardens, beautiful architecture and plenty of hidden corners that make every part of the venue feel special. From the moment guests arrived, there was a sense that this was going to be a memorable day.
The weather certainly did its bit too. While there was a breeze throughout much of the day, the sunshine seemed to appear exactly when it was needed, creating some gorgeous opportunities for photographs and video throughout the grounds. One of my favourite details was spotting cows and their calves grazing peacefully in the neighbouring fields, a lovely reminder of just how rural and picturesque this part of Sussex really is.
The ceremony took place in front of Balcombe Place’s impressive marble fireplace, creating a backdrop that felt both grand and intimate. Afterwards, guests spilled out onto the sheltered terrace, which quickly became something of a suntrap as the afternoon unfolded. It was the perfect spot for drinks, conversations and soaking up the spring sunshine while enjoying the stunning views across the estate.
As the celebrations continued, everyone gathered in the magnificent banquet hall for the wedding breakfast before moving into an evening of live music, dancing and plenty of laughter. The live band kept the energy high and ensured the dance floor stayed busy well into the evening.
Balcombe Place really is one of Sussex’s hidden gems for couples looking for a countryside wedding venue, and it provided a beautiful backdrop for O&H’s story. It was a pleasure to capture their day and create a wedding film that they can look back on for years to come.
