How can I help you?

Video Information

What do I receive at the end of the project?

Depending on what you have opted for, the length and edit of your film will vary, but I will provide you with an online link to your video. This is usually YouTube, but can sometimes be Vimeo. These videos can easily be shared and embedded anywhere you like. I can offer alternatives, so feel free to ask.

What's the lead time for a video edit?

This varies throughout the year. Something filmed in peak season (Summer) is usually turned around within 8 weeks and something in the quieter season is more like 6 weeks. But I always try to beat those deadlines wherever I can! I know how the extended anticipation can get frustrating very quickly!

Can I get a DVD/other format of the video?

Yes. We can produce a DVD for you at an extra cost. It’s a rare request these days, but it can be done – just ask! šŸ˜Š

If you’d like the video file for your own use, this can also be provided via Dropbox.

What about music - is it copyrighted?

All of the music that I use comes with royalties paid. This may mean that you don’t hear the banger you expect in your wedding dance-party scene – but I assure you that it will capture the moment perfectly and, if anything, add to the emotion of the scene.

It also means that the songs on your video are yours to use, consider it a personalised soundtrack to the emotions captured on your day.

Royalties on the music to your video are included in the cost, so once you have your video – it’s yours to use as you please.

If you wish to register a specific popular song and pay royalties to use it on your video, this can be done but it is not included within the price of your packages. Please enquire for more information.

What resolution will be video be?

Depending on the footage captured, I will always attempt to provide the highest resolution feature possible. In most cases this will scale to as high as 4K but at the very least, it will be 1080p HD.

What's with the OliveJoy Photography branding on some videos?

My first wedding was working alongside OliveJoy Photography and I’m her recommended videographer. Before I set up YourStory Video, I was her exclusive Videographer – and I still do jobs with her to this day (those are actually my favourite). So your video will have my branding at the end if you booked me and hers if you book me alongside her šŸ˜Š – and often there’s discounts available if you book us together.

Can you add in animated dinosaurs to our video?

I would literally love this. But it’s a little beyond my capacity… right now. Who knows what the future holds? Jurassic I Do’s, anyone?

Filming Information

Do you offer photography services also?

I personally focus on moving pictures – but I am happy to work with the photographers you choose for your wedding or project. Personally, I have a favourite who I always enjoy working with – OliveJoy Photography. Becky is my wife and we have worked countless projects together and (although I’m biased) I’m convinced we’re the perfect team.

Do you only film in Sussex?

No, absolutely not. I’m happy to travel (where I can) to tell your story. Whether that be a little further down the road or whether I need to hop on a plane – I’m up for it!

Do you charge travel expenses?

Typically, if you’re within 30 minutes of Shoreham By Sea (BN439FR), I won’t charge travel expenses – and even a little outside of that should be fine. But if you’re further afield, there may be a small fee to cover my travel expenses. If you’re not sure, feel free to ask šŸ˜Š

Are you insured?

Yes. I have business insurance as well as specific drone insurance also. Feel free to ask if you need further information on either of these.

What do we need to do in preparation for a filming?

Everything you need to know will be emailed to you prior to the event. So don’t worry. For weddings specifically, I try to keep out of your way, but still try and make you feel relaxed around the camera. At the end of the day, if you can’t relax in front of the camera – it’s not gonna capture your story naturally.

Do you use a steadycam?

Typically, I favour my monopod (that’s the long pole you see in most of my pictures) – it gives me a bit more of realistic feel to the footage. But I do own a gimbal (also known as steadicam) which I can use upon request (but I will need to know before the event day if you wish for me to use it).

Do you offer Drone Videography?

Yes. I am a trained and register drone pilot. So this is something that I love to offer. Drone footage will be dependant on the weather on the day of filming, so I cannot guarantee this as part of your film on a wedding day (and for corporate/pet – I can reschedule if you need it). But I will always try and capture drone footage where I can.

Want me to capture your story or to learn more? Drop me a message here to let me know a little but about your story – I’d love to create memories with you.
