J&I chose the beautiful Leonardslee Family Vineyards in West Sussex for their wedding day, and it was genuinely one of the most enjoyable weddings I have filmed in recent memory.
Set amongst the stunning Sussex countryside, Leonardslee was the perfect backdrop for a cinematic vineyard wedding film. From the elegant ceremony space to the courtyard drinks reception, vineyard views, live strings, heartfelt speeches and evening celebrations, the whole day had such a warm, joyful and memorable atmosphere.

There are some weddings that stay with you long after the final edit is finished, and J&I’s wedding at Leonardslee Family Vineyards was absolutely one of those. As a wedding videographer in Sussex, I’m lucky enough to film in some truly beautiful venues across West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey and beyond, but there was something particularly special about this day.
From the moment I arrived, the whole wedding had such a relaxed and friendly feeling. J&I were such a lovely couple to work with, and their day had a brilliant mix of emotion, personality, music and laughter. It was a genuine pleasure not only to film their wedding, but to sit with the footage afterwards and edit their story together.
Leonardslee Family Vineyards is a stunning setting for a wedding film. For couples looking for vineyard wedding videography in Sussex, it offers so many of the things that make a wedding video feel cinematic, romantic and full of atmosphere. The vineyard views, open countryside, elegant spaces and relaxed outdoor areas all help give the day a real sense of place.
A vineyard wedding has a very particular feel on camera. There is space, texture, movement and light. Guests can relax outside with drinks, couples can step away for beautiful moments together in the grounds, and the whole celebration carries that lovely countryside calm while still feeling elegant and special.
The ceremony took place in the upper room at Leonardslee, with beautiful live music from South Downs Strings. One of the absolute standout moments of the day was the bridal entrance, with a brilliant string rendition of Teenage Dirtbag. It was personal, unexpected and completely memorable — exactly the kind of moment that makes a wedding film feel unique to the couple.
That is one of the reasons I love wedding videography. A wedding film should not simply show what happened. It should help you feel what the day was like. For J&I, that bridal entrance captured so much of the personality and joy of their day.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception in the courtyard, surrounded by the beautiful vineyard setting and West Sussex countryside. These are some of my favourite parts of a wedding day to capture, because so many natural moments happen once the nerves have lifted. The hugs, conversations, laughter and little reactions between friends and family are often the moments that make a wedding film feel truly personal.
We also had the chance to head out around the grounds by golf buggy, which gave J&I’s wedding film some lovely quieter moments away from the busier parts of the day. For vineyard wedding films, these couple moments are so important. They give the film space to slow down, take in the setting, and create some of those beautiful cinematic shots that couples can look back on for years.
The speeches were another wonderful part of the day. Emotional, funny and full of warmth, they gave the film so much heart. In a feature wedding film, speeches help shape the story of the day, adding meaning and personality alongside the visual moments.
As the day moved into the evening, the atmosphere only got better. The music, dancing and energy of the guests brought the whole celebration to a brilliant close. It was one of those weddings where you could tell people were genuinely enjoying themselves from start to finish.
